Protecting our Clients Against Potentially Fraudulent Activity
Protecting Our Clients Against Potentially Fraudulent Activity
Across the industry, we are seeing an increase in bad actors impersonating and misusing corporate brands to get access to personal information and funds from unsuspecting individuals. These activities may involve individuals acting as company representatives and may include fake websites, social media inquiries, or communications that closely resemble official channels.
Please read the below for important reminders that can help protect you from potentially fraudulent activity.
We strongly caution against providing personal data or transferring funds in response to unsolicited requests. For your safety, always verify the authenticity of communications claiming to be from Lazard by contacting us through our official website or known contact points.
Specifically, Lazard will never engage in the following activities:
- Sending unsolicited investment proposals or requests for personal information from nonverified persons.
- Requesting payments to bank accounts in the names of individuals, third parties, unknown company names, or through payment intermediaries.
- Offering unrealistically attractive returns that seem too good to be true.
- Expressing urgency to complete an investment or make a payment.
- Requesting additional payments to release investments that have already been made.
- Requesting money to be sent via social media messaging apps and/or platforms.
If you believe that you have fallen victim to fraud, please contact your bank immediately. Additionally, you should report the incident to law enforcement in your jurisdiction as soon as possible.
The safety and protection of data and information is a priority for Lazard, and we appreciate your careful attention and diligence.
