On November 11, Lazard Chief Executive Officer Peter Orszag appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box to discuss the recent presidential election results in the United States and its impact on the markets and economy, state of M&A, and regulatory environment.

Regarding the election results and how they will impact the outlook for increased deal-making activity next year, Peter shared, "We were already in a cycle where M&A was picking up, partly because private equity was coming back onto the playing field. So, this is just accelerating what was already a rapidly developing M&A cycle."
