Lazard Chief Executive Officer Peter Orszag Featured in Business Insider

On September 23, Business Insider published an article featuring commentary from Lazard Chief Executive Officer Peter Orszag on the benefits of workplace flexibility, noting that Lazard has one of the most flexible work-from home policies in the financial sector and work-from home has not prevented employees from excelling at their jobs.

Unlike many Wall Street firms, Lazard's New York employees are required to come into the office three days a week, with the option to work remotely for two days. 

Peter emphasized the numerous benefits of this hybrid model, noting that it allows employees to maintain a sense of agency and balance other important aspects of their lives while still finding their work meaningful. He also stressed the importance of having the flexibility to attend to personal matters even amidst a demanding profession.

"There are many professions where you can't get around the effort part of it," Peter stated. "Even if you're working hard, you need to have some degree of agency, and ability to — if something else is important in your life — to take time off, to go do that," he added.
