Throughout the past month, Lazard has been observing Juneteenth, a day for celebration and reflection in the United States.

Deriving its name from "June" and "nineteenth," the day marks the anniversary of the order, issued by Major General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for enslaved African Americans in Texas. It is a day to honor those who suffered under slavery, the abolitionists who fought for justice, and to celebrate the generations of the Black and African American community who have contributed immeasurably to American culture, and the world at large.

Throughout the month, Lazard celebrated Juneteenth across a variety of events and engagements.
