Lazard Proud, the firm’s LGBTQIA+ employee resource group connects its members and allies in meaningful ways through relevant training, peer-to-peer mentoring, events, and volunteer opportunities. In June, to celebrate Pride, the group planned communications, volunteer and networking events and raised money and awareness of numerous nonprofits that serve the community. Lazard’s Chief Market Strategist, Ron Temple, said, “I am proud to work in a company where all people are valued and celebrated not in spite of their differences, but in part because of them.”
Some highlights included:
- Hosting a silent auction with more than 25 items to support the Brooklyn Community Pride Center.
- Volunteering at Housing Works’ warehouse in Long Island City. Members and allies sorted through and organized thousands of donated clothing items so that they could be distributed to stores across New York City.
- Participating in the 39th annual AIDS Walk New York to benefit the Gay Men’s Health Crisis.
- Creating internal communications and networking events for all team members in an effort to connect colleagues and celebrate Pride.
In June and throughout the year, Lazard Proud continues to demonstrate its unwavering and strong commitment to building an even more inclusive and diverse culture.
